Who We Are
SheMusafir is a travel company for women, by women, dedicated to redefining travel in India as a practice for independence, self-discovery, and growth.
Starting in 2025, the company aim to provide meaningful travel experiences to women through personalised itineraries, handcrafted activities, and safe arrangements, enabling Indian women to travel with safety, confidence, and purpose.
Our Story
For generations, women have travelled for family, work, and responsibilities. Rarely for themselves.
Not because the desire disappeared, but because safety concerns, guilt, lack of support, and everyday responsibilities quietly took over. Somewhere along the way, many women stopped seeing travel as something meant for them.
And yet, we kept noticing something beautiful: when a woman chooses to travel intentionally, immersively, and for her own growth, something shifts. She becomes more independent, more connected to herself, and experiences a better quality of life. Research describes travel as contributing to quality of life through “social interaction, personal development and individual identity formation” (Richards, 1999). What we witnessed in real life also found strong support in research and theory.
We created SheMusafir (She= pronoun to refer to a woman and Musafir= traveller in Arabic) after noticing two things: many women wanted to travel but did not feel safe or supported enough to do it freely, and the women who did travel often returned transformed.
That is why SheMusafir exists.

Meet Saumya-The Woman Behind SheMusafir
Before building SheMusafir, Saumya spent nearly a decade working in the development sector, advancing impact-driven initiatives across states. Her work was rooted in one goal: Improving the quality of public-school education and creating better learning experiences for children. She absolutely loved her job.
However, there was always another deep love: travel.
Not just for the destinations, but for what travel does to a person. The confidence it builds. The perspective it brings. The way it quietly changes how a person sees themselves.
Having grown up in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, Saumya understood early on that for many women, travelling freely is still not considered normal. That understanding became the foundation of SheMusafir.
What started as a passion for meaningful travel soon evolved into a women-only travel venture designed around safety, travel intentions, and growth.
Today, SheMusafir is building more than trips. It is building a space where women can explore the world with confidence, take up space unapologetically, and return home more connected to themselves than before.
